In the course of the game you should try to score as many points as possible. Points are
scored for any of the enemy's planes that you bring down. You should keep in mind that you get
the largest number of points for a plane brought down at the farthest distance. The closer you
bring down a plane, the less points you get for it. A new plane that has just appeared within
the range of your gun is displayed on the radar in the lower-right corner of the screen. The
white mark informs you that the plane is on a reconnaissance mission and cannot attack you.
In a while the reconnaissance is over and the cyberpilots start attacking. You can tell from
the change of the radar mark from white to red. You should remember that the faster you bring
down a plane after it appears, the larger number of points you get for it! If you have brought
enemy's plane down by one, two or three shots, you get 100, 50 or 30 scoring points
accordingly.
The radar differentiates the planes by their altitude. The higher the target is, the more
transparent it looks on the radar. Thus, the largest possible number of points will be scored
for a plane brought down at the farthest distance, on the highest altitude and right after it
appears on the radar. The total points you score in the course of game is displayed in the
upper-right corner of the screen. Each time you bring down ten planes, the complexity of the
game goes up one level. The current level is displayed in the upper-left part of the
screen.
DAMAGES
The informational panel in the lower-left corner of the screen displays the characteristics
of your gun. The panel consists of three circles.
The outer red circle indicates the gun power level. Each shot drains the power supply. Over
time, the supply is automatically recharged. The gun has three main characteristics: the rate
of fire, the rate of reload and the speed of firing off a plasma clot. Each 2500 points scored
enhance these characteristics. This means that you can fire more often, regain power more
quickly and produce less forestalling when firing.
The middle blue circle indicates the protection level of your gun. The protection prevents
the gun from direct damages that can be done by the enemy's attacks. Each hit lowers the level
of protection. You can recover protection by hitting the corresponding bonus cubes dropped by
some exploding planes.
The inner green circle indicates the viability level of the gun. If the gun protection is
completely down, each hit decreases this level. The complete lack of viability results in
destroying the defense line completely and the game is over. You can recover viability by
hitting the corresponding bonuses.
WEAPON
As quarry defender now you have your own universal plasma gun with variable shot power. The
power of a shot is shown by indicator on the top part of screen. You can increase the power
of shot by pressing the "+" key. To decrease power, please press the "-" key. To add power
you can press and hold right mouse button as long as you need.
The plasma gun has an intelligent targeting device that allows you to make your attacks much
more efficient. The internal circle of the sight is red in it's usual state. If forestalling is
done correctly for the shot, the circle becomes green.
When the sight is exactly on the target,
the external circle of the sight divided into segments becomes active. This circle is used to
display how badly the enemy's airplane is damaged. If the airplane is damaged, some segments
of the circle become red. If you have missiles, you can use the sight to capture the target
with the missile warhead. As soon as the sight is exactly on the target, the process of
capturing is started, which you can see by the indicator at the bottom of the sight. During
the process of capturing, you should try to keep the sight pointed as close to the center of
the target as possible. If the target is successfully captured, the indicator is replaced
with "LOCKED". Clicking the right mouse button after that will launch the missile.
BONUSES
Bonuses allow you to recover your gun characteristics to a certain degree.
Bonuses are stored in some of the enemy's planes and appear when they are
destroyed. To activate a bonus, you must hit it.
Power bonus. Allows you to recover 30% of gun power. If your gun is fully
loaded, additional points are scored for hitting power bonuses.
Protection bonus. Allows you to recover 40% of gun protection. If a
protection bonus is spent only partially, the rest of it is scored as
additional points.
Viability bonus. Allows you to recover 40% of viability. If your viability
is more than 60%, the rest of the bonus is scored as additional points.
Score bonus. Allows you to increase the score by 500 points.
